I have heard several times from my physician clients that they are frustrated with having to communicate with account reps at their MAC who do not speak clinically and/or provide inconsistent information. I have been asked numerous times if there is a way to get directly to the medical directors at the MACs.
The fact is there is a CMD Directory and since these folks are all employees of the United States Government, their work information is made public. With that said, I have attached the most recent (December 2020) CMD Directory for your viewing pleasure and usage. This file contains the names of the medical directors, their email address, phone number, physical address, jurisdiction, and specialty. Hopefully this listing will help should your physician(s) need to engage from a peer standpoint to discuss issues of medical necessity and coverage guidelines.
